Tips on Donations One of the things needed the most are non-food items, such as: paper products, household items, personal hygiene items, etc. Cornucopia will also accept gift certificates, as well as cash donations, which are tax deductible. Checks can be made out tithe Cornucopia Food Pantry or the United Campus Ministry.

The Cornucopia Food Pantry provides food and other support to UNH students, staff, faculty and their families. The Waysmeet Center seeks to be an open and inclusive facility and program for all people, and to build bridges between peoples, groups and communities on campus and the Durham area. Cornucopia runs food basket drives every Thanksgiving and Winter Holiday season, along with another in the spring. We are always looking for help and donations. Visit our volunteer page for more information on how you can help. We serve UNH students, staff and faculty, and their families, though no one is ever turned away. Last year, we provided approximately 370 food gift baskets to families; and served about 250 people on a weekly and emergency basis. We typically serve about 3-5 families per week. We have a group of UNH staff and community folks who serve as a team of folks to oversee the Food Pantry, and Stephen Luber, Operations Manager for the Housing Department, is our Coordinator at the present time. Cornucopia is a partnership of the UNH Chaplains Association, the United Campus Ministry to UNH, the UNH Office of Community Service and Learning, The UNH Department of Residential Life, and the UNH Department of Housing. We are especially in need of peanut butter, household products, paper products, hygiene products (toothpaste, soap, etc.), cold cereal, fresh produce, meat, eggs, and dairy products. If you wish to donate please use our donation form (which includes instructions). You can also contact is by phone, email or visit us in person.
How to Organize a Food Drive: Despite the bounty of food in the United States, many of our friends, families, and neighbors are hungry. The Cornucopia Food Pantry has seen record numbers of clients in need of food this year, and the groceries on our shelves are becoming more and more sparse. The goal of a food drive is to fill grocery bags with non-perishable* foods, which are then distributed to Seacoast residents through Cornucopia. Food drives can be highly rewarding, so encourage your friends to participate as well! For details on how to set one up check out this article. Durham Community Dinner Open to All! Anyone in need of a free, nutritious meal is invited and strongly encouraged to attend! Every second Friday of the month at 5:30pm. See our flyer for more details. Cornucopia Food Pantry
