Mission
"Started in October 1997, Cornucopia is a partnership of the UNH Chaplains Association, the United Campus Ministry to UNH, the UNH Office of Community Service and Learning, The UNH Department of Residential Life, and the UNH Department of Housing. The Cornucopia Food Pantry provides food and other support to UNH students, staff, faculty and their families. The Waysmeet Center seeks to be an open and inclusive facility and program for all people, and to build bridges between peoples, groups and communities on campus and the Durham area."  -- Rev. Larry Brickner-Wood, Chaplain & Executive Director, United Campus Ministry

The Cornucopia Food Pantry provides food and other support to UNH students, staff, faculty and their families. The Waysmeet Center seeks to be an open and inclusive facility and program for all people, and to build bridges between peoples, groups and communities on campus and the Durham area. We serve UNH students, staff and faculty, and their families, though no one is ever turned away. Last year, we provided approximately 370 food gift baskets to families; and served about 250 people on a weekly and emergency basis. We typically serve about 3-5 families per week.

History
The Cornucopia Food Pantry has been in operation since 1997. It is a food pantry located on campus and open year round for UNH students, staff, faculty and their families in need. The Food Pantry provides food on a weekly basis for those in need, provides holiday baskets three times a year for families in the community, and has monthly outreach meals to the Forest Park community here on campus. The Food Pantry has patrons from various cultures and countries, and has a rich diversity of folks using the pantry. The Food Pantry and Waysmeet Center also work with families and community members to link folks with transportation, gift and support resources. We also have a teddy bear program that provides teddy bears to children and families in need of emotional and joyful support.
